Dean Power
Creative Director
Dean has over 25 years’ graphic design experience, working for leading design consultancies on national and international projects. His skills extend across the spectrum of branding, naming, campaign development, corporate identity, and digital and print collateral design.
(Graphic) design answers problems, and it may be intellectual, but it does this as an act of communication that operates on a visceral level.
Dean joined Rowland in May 2012 after 12 years working for pre-eminent local and global branding consultancies.
He has considerable design experience in the arenas of brand strategy and development, identity, name creation and the creation of key positioning and messaging for a wide range of clients. Dean has worked for public and private sectors ranging from property, health, international sports, food and agriculture, financial and professional services, government and Government Owned Corporations including water and energy utilities, port and airports, to FMCG and boutique work for a diverse range of small business clients ranging from architects to hair salons.
Brand is not cosmetic. It’s your purpose, your DNA, your reason for being. Once you realise this, everthing falls into place.
In addition to naming, brand creation, implementation and rollout, Dean’s expertise extends to areas such as publication and report design and layout, digital and website design, and brand audit work. He has extensive experience in the design and development of promotional and inhouse print collateral (such as eDMs, newsletters, brochures, flyers and stationery), and social media content, in addition to illustration, character and mascot creation, packaging, signage, environmental graphics and wayfinding, and photographic art direction.
Dean’s creative thinking and his attention to detail ensures an exceptional quality in the end result that goes beyond our clients’ expectations. He has a holistic ‘whole of organisation’ appreciation of branding that extends across all facets of communication that include visual, written, spoken and behavioural cues that deeply informs his approach to projects.
