The Creative Strategist is a senior strategic role responsible for shaping how ideas move from strategy into compelling communication across brand, PR, advertising, digital and design.
Sitting at the intersection of strategy, storytelling and creative execution, this role ensures that communication ideas are insight-driven, creatively distinctive and effective across multiple channels. The role bridges disciplines — collaborating with strategists, designers, writers, marketers and clients to develop integrated communication solutions that build brand, reputation and engagement.
The Creative Strategist brings together strategic thinking, strong writing craft and creative sensibility to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives.
Primary responsibilities
Strategic design thinking
- Translate complex information into compelling, audience-focused content and stories across multiple stakeholder audiences
- Shape the structure and narrative of complex communication materials
- Work with designers to translate communication strategies into clear, effective visual communication
Creative and narrative development
- Develop strong messaging frameworks, brand narratives and campaign platforms
- Craft high-quality written content including brand positioning, campaign concepts, speeches, reports, scripts, opinion pieces and long-form storytelling
- Work collaboratively with designers and creative teams to ensure ideas are expressed powerfully through both words and visuals
- Ensure conceptual and messaging consistency across campaigns and channels
Client leadership
- Lead workshops, stakeholder sessions and discovery processes to uncover insights and shape strategic direction
- Present ideas, strategies and creative concepts with clarity and authority
- Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for growth
Thought leadership
- Contribute to the agency’s intellectual capital and strategic thinking
- Identify emerging communication trends and opportunities for innovation
- Help shape the agency’s point of view on brand, storytelling and strategic communication
Business development
- Assist with the development of proposals and pitch new business opportunities.

Technical
- Ability in Adobe InDesign would be well regarded
- High level of capability in Microsoft Office Suite
- Outstanding copywriting skills across multiple formats
- Ability to craft clear, persuasive and engaging messaging for different audiences

- Self-starting, proactive and comfortable identifying opportunities and driving initiatives
- Knowledge of change experience or behaviour change methodologies is desirable.
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in brand strategy, PR, communication or creative agencies
- Experience working across multiple communication disciplines including brand, PR, content, campaigns or corporate communications
- Proven ability to drive complex, strategic projects and influence senior stakeholders.
