Creating a buzz in Ripley Valley

Located south-west of Brisbane, Ripley Valley is one of the Queensland Government’s Priority Development Areas (PDA) and is set to accommodate more than 141,000 residents by 2041.

Leading masterplan developer and home builder, Sekisui House Australia, has played a key role in the development of the Ripley Valley by providing critical infrastructure and housing, including Ripley Town Centre and residential community, Ecco Ripley.

Sekisui House Australia engaged Rowland in 2019 to strategically plan and manage stakeholder engagement for both Ripley Town Centre and Ecco Ripley, to elevate its leadership in masterplanning, increase its market presence, and attract both business partners and new home buyers to the development.

Drawing on key project milestones and grassroots community stories, we identified opportunities that highlighted the unique benefits of the developments.

A critical milestone for Sekisui House Australia was the launch of its Ripley Town Centre masterplan vision — the only designated major retail and commercial hub earmarked for the Ripley Valley region.

Rowland worked closely with the Sekisui House Australia team to develop a clear and compelling strategy for the launch, which included a helicopter flyover media familiarisation activity and media packs to key journalists. As a result, we achieved significant coverage across local, metro, national and industry media, including The Courier-Mail, The Australian, News.com.au, The Urban Developer and Realestate.com.au.

Rowland has since helped to maintain momentum following the masterplan launch, by positioning Sekisui House Australia as an industry thought leader through a series of speaking opportunities, paid advertorial and the development of a masterplan positioning paper.

In 2022, Rowland assisted the Ripley Town Centre team secure national recognition at the Shopping Centre Council of Australia (SCCA) Awards for its involvement in Little Day Out — Ipswich’s signature children’s music and arts festival — in consultation with Ipswich City Council.

More recent work has involved communication support for asset EOIs, as well as the promotion of key community events at Ripley Town Centre through local media, including but not limited to, The Pet Expo, Little Day Out and school holiday programs.
