Rowland is one of Australia’s leading strategic communication agencies, trusted by government and private sector clients to navigate complex issues, protect reputation, and deliver meaningful outcomes.

We are growing our Corporate Affairs team and looking for an experienced Account Manager or Account Director to help deliver high-quality strategic communication programs for some of Australia’s most significant organisations and projects.

We are looking for a strategic communication professional who is a trusted adviser to business leaders: someone who understands the commercial realities of clients as well as the importance of positioning and storytelling.

The role

You will play a key role in developing and delivering strategic communication campaigns that navigate complex stakeholder environments, working closely with Rowland’s Corporate Affairs team and colleagues to deliver integrated solutions that drive real results for clients.

Depending on your level, you will:

  • Develop and deliver strategic communication programs and campaigns
  • Build strong relationships with clients and their leadership teams
  • Lead or support project delivery to ensure work is delivered on time and on budget
  • Manage workflow, budgets and quality control across client projects
  • Showcase your issues/crisis management experience
  • Provide strategic advice on communication risks and opportunities
  • Support early career consultants.

About you

This role is ideal for someone who excels in the details of delivery and is always thinking ahead. You’re an organised, solutions-focused professional with a deep understanding of earned and owned media, and the ability to build trusted client relationships.

  • 5–10+ years’ experience in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement or strategic consultancy
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with an ability to simplify complex issues
  • Excellent writing, presentation and stakeholder management capability
  • Proven track record in leading client accounts and delivering measurable outcomes
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment.
