Sarah has over 30 years’ experience with leading design and communication consultancies in Sydney and Brisbane. Her skills extend across publication and digital assets design, with a focus on real purpose and desired outcomes.

Sarah spent many years in Sydney working on annual reports for Australia’s Top-100 companies, developing strategic approaches appropriate for the needs of individual audiences.

Design fundamentally solves problems. I love the overlay of great design and design thinking to simplify complexity, and solve communication challenges.

That background has held her in good stead as she works quickly to understand the business strategy and personality of an organisation. Past clients include CSR, Boral, Investa, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank, AMP, Port of Brisbane, Queensland Strawberry Industry, National Hire, Sydney Water, Origin Energy.

After many years in design consultancies, Sarah spent several years working in-house for a Queensland peak body, where all aspects of brand and customer experience were addressed through good design. Designing the communications assets of the organisation specific to different audience types — from members and politicians, to media and the general public — ensuring the message was right and outcomes achieved.

Sarah has co-authored research articles on design thinking and cyberincivility, wrote a paper on building online brand communities, and has teamed up with Australian Design Radio for a series on design thinking.

She grew up and studied in Sydney before moving to Brisbane in 2008. She recently upskilled with a degree in internet communications to be at the forefront of digital, and is passionate about using design to solve complex problems.

Her big question right now is: how do we use design effectively to change behaviour, and for positive social outcomes?

She will happily talk good design, or cricket, with… anyone.
