Rebecca brings to Rowland extensive experience in corporate communication, media and journalism.

She is a practical, reliable, creative and authentic communication practitioner and advisor who brings a calm, friendly and solutions-focused manner to every situation.

Rebecca is experienced at developing highly engaging, original content that informs and entertains, and has a proven ability to write across a wide range of tones, adjusted for voice, message, audience and call to action.

During her time as Communication Lead at Unitywater, Rebecca developed content for a wide range of tools and channels including videos, annual reports, EDMs, website copy, interview talking points, social media, awards submissions, media releases, and executive speeches.

She has led campaigns from concept to execution including project management of third-party agencies; and managed large-scale community events including media management, event photography, budget and supplier management, and logistics.

No stranger to an emergency incident or a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities, Rebecca’s recent experience in the utilities sector has honed her skills in issues and crisis communication, internal communication, media and reputational risk mitigation, community and stakeholder engagement, content strategy and project management.

She previously spent 18 years as a journalist in various newspaper and television newsrooms in South Australia and Queensland, including WIN-TV, Seven Network and as Business Editor at APN News & Media (NewsCorp).

Rebecca has a unique talent for grasping and communicating complex content and ideas quickly, simply and effectively. She is an accomplished communicator with a passion for people and their stories, a sharp attention to detail, and advanced writing, editing and proof-reading skills.
