Caroline’s corporate communication career spans more than 25 years working with a range of industries including accounting, law, financial services, insurance, member associations, education, agriculture real estate and health.
Throughout her career, Caroline has maintained a continued passion for corporate writing, teaching in the area for 16 years at QUT, UQ and Edith Cowan University in Perth.
Holding a Bachelor of Business — Communication majoring in Public Relations and Organisational Communication from QUT, she has excellent writing and editing skills and corporate communication skills.
Caroline is also a stakeholder engagement expert and is accredited by the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) — the industry-recognised gold standard in stakeholder engagement — having completed a Certificate in Engagement.
Caroline believes writing clear and concise content that is audience-appropriate is a PR professional’s hidden talent.
She has developed and implemented plain language training programs for local government and large organisations to improve staff business writing skills.
Caroline is experienced at working with boards, executive leaders, workforces, stakeholders and the media.
She understands the sensitivities that are often associated with issues and crises. Her friendly manner and empathy for all stakeholders stands her in good stead to quickly grasp a range of communication challenges.
She has a strong eye for detail and a dedicated and motivated work ethic. Caroline is enthusiastic and creative, bringing a genuine energy and a pragmatic approach to her work.
A mature and calm professional, Caroline has worked extensively in communication consulting and in-house roles.
Most recently, she held an in-house position as director of corporate affairs managing significant issues and crisis communication, corporate brand and stakeholder engagement for a large group of Queensland independent schools.
In this role, Caroline provided strategic communications advice and practical support to the executive, board and school leaders.
