Solterra Agriculture, a new operating entity established by Warakirri Asset Management, required a complete brand strategy extending from name and brand story, to visual identity and website.

Having worked closely with the organisation and its international stakeholders to establish the foundations for the brand, the Rowland team created a strategy and story based on the agricultural focus of the business and its role as a custodian of the land. This formed the brand essence From the land, we grow, and ultimately inspired the name, Solterra — a coming together of the sun and of the earth.

The new brand was brought to life through a striking visual identity that represents the company’s commitment to deliver sustainable returns for people, communities and the environment.

The motifs of the logo are richly symbolic: a rising sun over fields represents Solterra’s core mission to produce food to feed the world, a human figure symbolises commitment to people and communities, and a sprouting plant signifies growth and opportunity.

Having developed the identity, Rowland partnered with Solterra Agriculture to create a modern, responsive website, designed to appeal primarily to prospective employees. The design was pivotal in supporting the company’s recruitment efforts and building credibility with potential employees, contractors and suppliers.

Rowland focused on crafting an engaging, visually captivating experience that communicated the brand’s values and vision, and as a newly established business with just one property and a small workforce, ensuring a site that planned for future growth. The result was a flexible, scalable design that aligned with Solterra’s immediate needs and long-term objectives.

The strong graphic nature of the symbol firmly positions Solterra as an agricultural brand, but with the adoption of contemporary typography and a fresh take on an earthy colour palette, the overall visual identity is modern and optimistic.
