Breathing life into places, spaces and events
City Parklands Services is an energetic and diverse team of experienced experts, entrusted with the responsibility of breathing life and creativity into parks and precincts across the greater Brisbane region.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Brisbane City Council (BCC), City Parklands had traditionally operated under the BCC brand. With new operating arrangements, City Parklands worked with Rowland to develop a new visual identity that would enable it to capitalise on new commercial opportunities, while ensuring strong links to its history and experience within Council.
Through close collaboration with the City Parklands team, Rowland drew from the beauty that can be found in the moments that happen naturally, resulting in a brand strategy and identity that was all about spotlighting a naturally inspired brand idea.
Founded on a story grounded in deep connection, collective expertise and leaving a lasting impression, the visual identity celebrates the lively and inviting nature that defines the places, spaces and events that City Parklands manages, and the people behind them.
A comprehensive toolkit of brand assets and templates ensure the City Parklands brand has a strong grounding on which to grow and flourish.

At the heart of the brand is a tree symbol, which springs to life through animation, forging connections and bursting into life as it grows, with colours inspired by iconic trees — Grevillea, Jacaranda, and Poinciana.
